Interestingly, they actually buffed them in 1.6, or would have if they hadn't nerfed Regeneration (half the rate of before, where each level doubles the speed so level V is the same as the old level IV): ![]() The increase in Absorption only provides a minimal benefit since it can't be regenerated. In other words, since 1.9 simply eating food regenerates health 2.5 times faster than an enchanted golden apple, which were overall made 12.5 times worse than before (2/3 the duration and 8.33 times slower health regeneration). Health regenerates 1 every half-second instead of 1 every 4 seconds, when saturation is not empty. The duration of the Regeneration effect has now also been decreased to 20 seconds. Enchanted golden apples now give Regeneration II (down from V) and Absorption IV (up from I), in addition to the unchanged Resistance and Fire Resistance effects. ![]()
